Become a member of the oldest historic organization in the Somerset Hills. THSSH has been preserving and promoting local history since 1928! Founded in 1928 originally as the Historical Society of Basking Ridge, the mission and name of the society was later changed to The Historical Society of the Somerset Hills, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization including all five communities of the Somerset Hills – Bedminster, Far Hills, Peapack-Gladstone, Bernardsville and Bernards Township (Basking Ridge).
WHY JOIN THSSH?
Members are the heart of The Historical Society of the Somerset Hills (THSSH). Each member is an essential part of a dedicated community of volunteers and supporters who ensure that the history of the Somerset Hills is preserved. Your membership allows us to put on programs that engage and inform. Membership dues help us develop exceptional exhibitions that celebrate the Somerset Hills and remind all citizens of our shared past. Becoming a member also helps maintain the Brick Academy and the remarkable collection of objects and artifacts in our Museum.
Your tax deductible annual membership allows us to function as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization supporting projects, events, educational programs and advocacy leadership on issues related to historical significance in the Somerset Hills..

Please help us preserve the Somerset Hills past and protect its future by becoming a new member or renewing your current membership. You can become a member or renew your membership online using our secure payment system.
Memberships are annual and renew in the spring. If you join mid-term, your new membership will carry over to the following year.

A special opportunity for local businesses and corporations is to become a Business Member.
As an added incentive, we will also give each new Business Member a complimentary copy of our commemorative Bicentennial book, a historic booklet of Bernards Township, NJ, published o commemorate the bicentennial: 1760-1960.
We also invite all local businesses and corporations to sponsor advertising in our Inside the Brick Academy newsletter, published three times a year, as well as our bi-annual Holiday House Tour guidebook.
